Black Doll Hung by Noose at NYC Parks Department HQ
An employee of New York City’s Parks and Recreation Department claimed to be “traumatized” after seeing the image of a Black baby doll hanging by its neck from a metal chain at the department’s Bronx-area headquarters in December 2011. Nearby, KKK was found scratched on a bathroom wall. In January 2012, police arrested Fariz Ahmemulic, a department employee, in connection to the incident. He was charged aggravated harassment as a hate crime.
