Health Reform Law Divides Americans

Two years in, Americans are still divided about the Affordable Care Act, which threatens to be a wedge issue during the 2012 election cycle. In a Pew Research Center poll published March 21, 47 percent of Americans said they approve of the law versus 45 percent who disapprove. Eighty-three percent of Blacks approve of the law compared to 37 percent of whites. In addition, Republicans, Democrats and Independents, respectively, gave it a thumbs-up by 11, 76 and 44 percent.
