For years, African-American women with afros have been subject to racial profiling pat downs by the Transpiration Security Administration. In June of 2011, Laura Adiele was told she had to undergo a full-body security scan and have her “poofy” bun hairdo inspected. She says she was singled out because of her race and no one else with “big hair or ponytails” was searched.
