Head of the Pack

Just as graduation season is in full swing, a newly released study from the Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program reveals 100 U.S. cities with the highest percentage of residents with at least a bachelor’s degree in 2010, versus in 1970. “The article notes that places in which lots of college graduates cluster exhibit patterns that, not surprisingly, are common to college graduates themselves: longer life expectancies, higher incomes, fewer single-parent families,” writes Alan Berube, senior fellow and research director of the Brookings Metropolitan Policy Program.
