Sandy Hook Elementary School

As morning classes got underway on Dec. 14, a gunman opened fire at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.  According to officials, at 27 people — including 18 children and the gunman — were killed. The shooter was identified as 20-year-old Adam Lanza.
