Civic Engagement: 99.9 Percent

In 2010, 62.8 percent of African-Americans were registered to vote and 43.5 percent actually voted, compared to 68.2 percent and 48.6 percent of whites, respectively. In addition, in 2011, 20.3 percent were involved in volunteerism, compared to 28.2 percent of whites.
