A new report by the New America Foundation finds that college students from families with the lowest incomes (below $30,000) are paying college costs of at least half or even more than their family's annual income. The foundation suggests that those students are more likely to take on excessive debt or work full-time to help cover costs, which can increase the likelihood that they will drop out before completing their education.
