Miraculously, only two of the 307 people on Asiana Airlines Flight 214 died in last week’s horrific crash at San Francisco International Airport. Because of advancements in technology, the chances of surviving a plane crash are higher than they were more than 50 years ago. As of 2013, there are only two deaths for every 100 million passengers who travel on airplanes worldwide. Here is a rundown of 10 of the most tragic plane crashes in the past 10 years. An Iran Islamic Revolutionary Guards Co. Il-76MD plane crashed into a mountain due to high winds and intense fog, killing the 18 crew members and 284 passengers on board.
