A Disturbing Link - One of Madison's neighbors described him as having "sadistic" qualities. "He would say, 'I'm gonna Anthony Sowell somebody,'' one resident told FOX 8 Cleveland on Monday. Police believe Madison may have been influenced by Sowell (pictured above), a convicted serial killer who stalked and murdered 11 women four years ago. Sowell was sentenced to death in 2011. Criminal Past - FOX 8 Cleveland reports Madison's criminal history includes a 2001 arrest on charges of kidnapping, attempted rape and gross sexual imposition. Madison pled guilty to the attempted rape charge in 2002 as part of a plea bargain and was sentenced to four years in prison. The conviction led to his classification as a "sexually oriented offender," according to the news station. (Photo: AP Photo/Mark Duncan)

Major Crime in Cleveland - Madison's ongoing investigation marks the third major missing woman's case to rock the city in the four years since Sowell's murders. In May, Ariel Castro, a former school bus driver, was charged with more than 1,000 counts of kidnapping, rape and other charges after police say he held three women captive in a home on Cleveland's west side for nearly a decade.
