Atiya Haynes Suspended for School Year for Pocket Knife - Atiya Haynes, a student at Annapolis High School in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, was suspended for the rest of the school year in October 2014 for having a pocketknife. She forgot that she had the weapon her grandfather gave her for protection after she was hired as a lifeguard in July in a neighborhood that was a 45-minute bicycle ride away from her home, WXYZ reports. School officals found the knife while they were searching her bag for marijuana, which she didn't have. The senior will have to complete her coursework on-line to graduate in 2015. Atiya Haynes Suspended for School Year for Pocket Knife - Atiya Haynes, a student at Annapolis High School in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, was suspended for the rest of the school year in October 2014 for having a pocketknife.
