Julian Bond

While a student at Morehouse College , Julian Bond became a founding member of SNCC. In 1965, Bond ran for Georgia Legislature with the help of the SNCC members who organized his campaign. The legislature refused to appoint him to his seat after SNCC made an anti-war statement. The battle ended up in the Supreme Court, which decided that Bond should be seated.
