Howard University President Retires in Open Letter to Students and Staff

Following a tense three-day Board of Trustees meeting that ended Saturday, Howard University President Sidney A. Ribeau abruptly stepped down Tuesday, announcing his retirement in an open letter to students and faculty. His departure came after it was revealed that Howard suffered from a drop in national ranking and a downgrade in its credit rating.
