Talladega College Showcases Historic Murals in Chicago

African history is American history, and Talladega College knows how to honor both. The Alabama-based HBCU premiered the Talladega College Hale Woodruff Murals Exhibition at the Chicago Cultural Center in October. The original six murals were constructed in 1939-1942 and depict the mutiny on La Amistad, the Spanish ship carrying the Mendes slaves that was captured off of Long Island. The traveling exhibit will remain in Chicago through June 16.
