New South Carolina State President Has His Work Cut Out for Him

Thomas Elzey, the new president of South Carolina Southern University, is hard at work trying to repair the broken institution, which has had 10 chief executives, including three permanent presidents, in the last 10 years. Just five months into his position, he is looking to hire a chief financial officer, “operations” person, and “several permanent deans.”
