CIAA Football Championship Canceled After Winston Salem QB Assaulted

The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association game between Winston-Salem and Virginia State scheduled for Nov. 15 was canceled after Rudy Johnson was attacked in a Winston-Salem bathroom by Virginia State players. One of the Virginia State students, Lamont Darnell Britt, was arrested by WSSU and charged with assault and inflicting serious injury. VSU players jumped Johnson during an awards ceremony.
