Check for Flight Cancellations - Due to the storm, thousands of flights have been delayed and hundreds have been canceled as of Nov. 26. Book Flights in Advance - Fare increase heavily during the holiday season. Around Thanksgiving flights can increase up to 17 percent. They can go up 51 percent around Christmas, and spike by 15 percent for New Year's.
