Zero Black Owned TV Stations

The number of Black-owned and operated full-power TV stations has dropped to zero, according to a report by New America Media. There were 18 in 2006 and five in 2012. Earlier this month the last of the African-American owned stations, which were owned by Roberts Broadcasting, were sold to ION Media. The report blames the loss on the FCC’s scaling back on TV ownership regulations.  (Photo: WOLFGANG RATTAY/LANDOV)
