Racial Discrimination, Vandalizing and Blackface - From blackface to racial discrimination to vandalization of property, there continues to be reports of racism on campuses across the country. Of the 6,718 hate crimes offenses reported in 2012, 8.3 percent occurred at schools or colleges, according to the FBI. "I don't want Blacks at this school," one message read. FBI Investigated Oberlin College Hate Crimes - On March 7, the FBI began investigating Oberlin College after a series of hate crimes brought discomfort to the campus. There were racist slurs written on posters, and swastikas and “Whites Only” messages drawn over water fountains.
