Alcorn State Gets a New President

After the former president resigned amid a purchasing scandal, the Mississippi College Board elected Alfred Rankins Jr. as the next president of Alcorn State University. Rankins, an Alcorn State graduate, said, he was “ready to come back home and get to work.” There is no word as to when his term will officially begin, but Rankins predicts it will be a speedy transition.
