Freddie Gray Protests - On Wednesday, demonstrators took to the streets of cities across the country to march in solidarity with the Baltimore uprisings that were sparked by the death of Freddie Gray, who was left with his spine severed after being arrested and riding in a police van. Supporters want to know how Gray was brutalized and are calling for the officers involved to be prosecuted. The Justice League Says Mayor DeBlasio Should Denounce Officers  - This man is one of 143 people arrested near Union Square in New York City. Some complained that police officers on the scene were too aggressive. The Justice League NYC, an advocacy group, called on New York Mayor Bill DeBlasio to "denounce NYPD's actions" at last night's protest, saying that community relations does not include, "brandishing your billy clubs at nonviolent marchers on sidewalks; arbitrary arrest; and aggressively terrorizing families who were simply teaching their children how to exercise their constitutional right of free speech."
