Reasons Why Anonymous Believes Sandra Bland Was Murdered

A look at a few theories by the 'hacktivist' group.

Rage On - Anonymous, the "hacktivist" group committed to exposing government wrongdoings and making perpetrators pay, has called for a "Day of Rage" on behalf of Sandra Bland. The organization released a video listing the reasons it believes she was murdered, echoing many of the conspiracy theories that have circulated, especially since her death was ruled a suicide. While there are holes in Anonymous's reporting as well, with the concerns about police brutality continuing, is there a need to let the questions persist? That Mugshot - While many forensics experts are calling the speculation that Bland was dead in her mugshot "ridiculous," Anonymous is sticking by this theory. The group believes evidence within the mugshot — the way her shoulders are angled and the effect of gravity on her face and locs — points to the fact that she was lying on the ground when it was taken. For some reason, Anonymous printed their watermark over the very image we are meant to be studying for evidence, killing much of the credibility of its claim.(AP Photo/Matt Marton)

Her Outfit - The group points out that Waller County Sheriff's Department has never before put detainees in orange jumpsuits for their mug shots, as the pictures are typically taken before the accused is processed. Bland, however, was wearing prison garb in hers.(AP Photo/Pat Sullivan)

Doctored Documents - The group claims that all documents provided by the Waller County Sheriff's Department related to Bland have been doctored, and therefore deemed unreliable. Unfortunately, Anonymous provides no further evidence to back up the claim.(Steve Gonzales/Houston Chronicle via AP)

Edited Dash Cam Video - This is one that many people have questions about: the dash cam video that Texas PD released to the public looks to be clearly doctored or edited. We want to know why.(AP Photo/Pat Sullivan)

Suicide Watch - Anonymous also asks the very legitimate question of why Bland was not put on suicide watch if she had indeed admitted to police that she had attempted suicide in the past.(Photo by Jonathan Gibby/Getty Images)
