FAMU President to Keep His Post During Hazing Investigation

Florida A&M University president James Ammons likely breathed a sigh of relief on Dec. 19 after the university’s board of trustees agreed that he would continue his duties as scheduled during continued investigations in the hazing death of marching band member Robert Champion, just days after Florida Gov. Rick Scott called for the embattled president’s suspension. On Dec. 16, police ruled Champion’s death a homicide.
