Florida Civic Groups File Lawsuit Against State’s Voting Law

Attorneys for the League of Women Voters of Florida, Rock the Vote and the Florida Public Interest Research Group filed a lawsuit in state court recently, complaining that Florida’s new law requires “third-party voter registration” organizations like theirs to pre-register with the state and satisfy a number of cumbersome disclosure requirements. They claim the new requirements will hurt students, women and seniors—groups that historically vote Democratic in the state.
