Louisiana State Rep. Calls for National Guard Patrol in New Orleans
In reaction to a spike in violence in New Orleans—including the recent shooting death of a one-year-old girl—Louisiana lawmaker Austin Badon Jr. called for the National Guard to again patrol New Orleans streets on Dec. 19. New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu responded a day later that National Guardsmen are already in the town, working “behind the scenes” to halt crime.
