Veteran Boxers Take to the Ring
This weekend saw two 40-plus boxers— Bernard Hopkins, 46 and Roy Jones Jr. 42— take on opponents in respective matches. Hopkins beat 28-year-old Jean Pascal to win the light heavyweight title, becoming the oldest person to win a boxing championship in the sport’s history. Jones, however, endured a vastly different fate as he was knocked out by 31-year-old Russian boxer Denis Lebedev in Moscow after 10 rounds.
