The State of Black Men in California

A new study from the Select Committee on the Status of Boys and Men of Color found that young Black men in California that don't have a high school diploma or its equivalent were, by a 36 to 27 percent ratio, more likely to be in prison than working a job. Adding to the forecast, the group estimates that Black kindergarteners were three times more likely to doubt their academic abilities than white children.
