Shooting Near Times Square
After they were unable to disarm him, New York City Police fatally shot a man armed with a large knife near Times Square on Sunday. Fifty-one-year-old Darrius Kennedy was reportedly smoking marijuana on a street corner and wielded an 11-inch knife when police approached.
