At the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday, the Obama Administration spoke out for the first time in support of affirmative action programs at universities, which aim to increase the pool of Black and Latino students. In October, the High Court will rule on the appeal of Abigail Fisher, a rejected white applicant who accused the University of Texas of racial discrimination.
