Minority Communities Suffer From Coal-Fired Power Plants

An NAACP report found that coal-fired power plant pollution disproportionately affects communities of color. Environmental groups studied the outputs of power plants and the environment of nearby neighborhoods to discover that the six million who live within three miles of coal power plants have a per capita income of $18,400 per year and minority communities represent 39 percent of that group.
