Racial Disparities in Breast Cancer

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have found that while Black women have a lower incidence of breast cancer than white women, once they're diagnosed, their death rate from the disease is 41 percent higher. By the time Black women are diagnosed with breast cancer, the disease has spread to other organs in 45 percent of cases compared to 35 percent of cases among white women. (Photo: GettyImages)
