54 Chicago Public Schools Will Close

The city of Chicago announced they will be closing 54 public schools to address the $1 billion deficit. Mayor Rahm Emanuel says the decision was not “politically easy” and there are more seats for students (500,000) than there are students (403,000), according to the Associated Press.
