NAACP Commends Stop-and-Frisk Ruling

The NAACP has commended Judge Shira A. Scheindlin’s ruling that the NYPD’s stop-and-frisk tactic is unconstitutional. The New York federal judge has appointed an independent monitor to oversee changes to a practice that has violated the fourth and 15th amendments of New Yorkers. “Judge Scheindlin recognized what the NAACP has been saying for years: the racial profiling tactic of stop and frisk has no place in our enlightened society,” stated Benjamin Todd Jealous(Photo: AP Photo/Seth Wenig)
