Black Nurse Settles Racist Lawsuit

The U.S. Equal Opportunity Commission has settled a racial discrimination lawsuit between Tonya Battle, a veteran Black nurse from Michigan, and a Flint hospital for posting a note on a chart stating, “No African-American nurse to take care of baby.” The father of the infant had made the request to the hospital. The amount was not disclosed. (Photo: Fuse/Getty Images)
