Florida School Board Votes to Change Name of HS Named After KKK Member

A predominantly Black high school in Florida that was named after Confederate Army General Nathan Bedford Forrest, also known as the “grand wizard” of the Ku Klux Klan, will be receiving a new name. The school board voted unanimously to move forward. Omotayo Richmond, a resident of Jacksonville, Florida, launched a Change.org petition calling for the change.
