Ex-Aide to NYC Police Commissioner Forced to Resign

Katherine Lemire, a former federal prosecutor who worked with New York City police commissioner Raymond Kelly, says she was forced out of her job for standing up for an African-American employee who says she was chastised for wearing braids. A human resources assistant allegedly called the style “ghetto.” Lemire filed a lawsuit and is seeking back pay, damages and corporate reforms. (Photo: Spencer Platt/Getty Images)
