Thousands of Dollars in Scholarships for Minority Students Go to Waste

Posted Nov. 5, 2007 – Each year, hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarship money that could benefit thousands of African-American students go to waste because nobody applies for the money. College counselors say students either don’t make the effort to research the loans available to them or they don’t do the legwork it takes to apply for them.
