If you could know that your unborn child is likely to be gay and that hormonal treatments could change the baby's orientation to heterosexual, would you do it?

Posted March 20, 2007 – The Rev. R. Albert Mohler, Jr., one of the country's leading evangelical leaders, is under attack from gay and religious groups for suggesting that homosexuality in babies could be "curable" with prenatal treatment.

  • About 33 percent of you said, "Biology. Sexual orientation is innate. Before children even hear of sex, a part of the brain develops that distinguishes one from being homosexual or heterosexual."

  • About 13 percent of you said, "I'm not sure."

In an article written by Mohler earlier this month, he said scientific research "points to some level of biological causation" for homosexuality – and that angered conservative Christians.

Proof of a biological basis would challenge their belief that homosexuality — which they view as sinful — is a matter of choice that can be overcome through prayer and counseling.
