While no decision has been released, on Monday, Michelle Obama visited two private schools: Georgetown Day School and Chelsea Clinton’s alma mater, Sidwell Friends School.
Meanwhile, President-elect Barack Obama's family has also discussed public school options for their two young daughters.
According to Washington, D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty and D.C. Schools Chief Michelle Rhee, the future first family has talked to them about what the public school system could offer 7-year-old Sasha and 10-year-old Malia, The Associated Press reports.
The Obama girls now attend a private school in Chicago.
