After a week spent fighting with lawmakers over his economic stimulus plan, President Barack Obama was due for some rest and relaxation, and he got it at Camp David in Maryland. It was Obama’s first visit to the presidential hideaway in the state’s Catoctin Mountains, which he described as “beautiful,” reports the Associated Press.
Of course, his wife Michelle and their two daughters Sasha and Malia joined him, along with one of Sasha’s friends and one of Michelle’s friends, who also brought her two children.
“The girls just had a great time. They had a lot of fun,” Obama said of the retreat, where he also got a chance to play some basketball and practice his golf swings. “You can see during the summer it’s going to be a nice place to spend a lot of time.”
