Robert Gates, who was appointed defense secretary by President Bush and held over in the position by President Obama, is singing his new boss’ praises.
Speaking to CNN Sunday, Gates described Obama as true thinker and said he’s enjoying working in the current administration. "He is very analytical," Gates told CNN Chief National Correspondent John King, referring to the president. "He is very deliberate about the way he goes through things. He wants to understand everything. He delves very deeply into these issues."
Gates was the first defense secretary to be asked to remain in office by a newly elected president when Obama kept him on.
He would not compare Obama to Bush when pressed to do so by King. "I'm not going to get into comparing the different presidents, Gates said. “I very much enjoy working for this one."
