Three Plead Not Guilty in Racist Attack of Elderly Black Man

A Baltimore man and two teens pleaded not guilty Monday to beating an elderly fisherman because he is Black.

The attorneys for 28-year-old Calvin Lockner, 16-year-old Emmanuel Miller and 17-year-old Zachary Watson entered the pleas Monday in Baltimore Circuit Court. The trial is scheduled for Dec. 11, The Associated Press reports.

Seventy-six-year-old James Privott fished in a waterfront park in south Baltimore last month when Lockner – who is nicknamed "Hitler" and has a tattoo of the Nazi leader – attacked him, police said. Lockner told police the attack wouldn't have happened if the victim had been White, according to AP.

Lawyers for the two teens are trying to have their cases moved to juvenile court.
