American Airlines is behind a new African American social networking site named BlackAtlas.com, EURweb.com reports, citing The Dallas Business Journal.
The Web site will feature discussion boards and blogs on which users can share pictures, video, travel stories and travel tips, along with rating and recommending businesses and travel destinations, EURweb.com writes.
BlackAtlas will also feature video blogs and commentaries on travel by author, filmmaker and BET contributor Nelson George, according to EURweb.com.
Stacey Frantz, a spokeswoman for American, declined to discuss how much BlackAtlas is costing the airline, saying the enterprise is more about “building of brand loyalty in the African-American community” than generating revenues.
