An administrator at an Atlanta-area high school stumbled on a student and former student having sex in a classroom, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Last month, Kevin Jones, a teacher at Forest Park High School, dismissed his after-school drama club rehearsal, told the students to go home and left the classroom. A short time later, an administrator entered the room and found a 17-year-old student and a 20-year-old former student engaged in sexual activity, the Journal-Constitution reports. The former student had been volunteering with the drama club. The other students had left the building.
Jones, who teaches history and drama, was suspended for 20 days without pay for failure to provide adequate supervision for an after-school sponsored activity; he returned to school last week, Clayton County District spokesman Charles White told the Journal-Constitution.
The female student, who was a senior, has since transferred to another district, White said. The graduate no longer volunteers at the school. School officials said the sex was consensual and no charges were filed.
