Obama Meeting With Senators on Picking New Justice

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama will meet with Senate leaders Wednesday to discuss replacing retiring Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.

He and Vice President Joe Biden will meet with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, Sen. Patrick Leahy (LAY'-hee), who is chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Sen. Jeff Sessions, the top Republican on the committee.

The president also has meetings with Defense Secretary Robert Gates, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner (GYT'-nur) and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius (seh-BEEL'-yuhs).

He'll also attend a reception for G-20 labor ministers and host members of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams.
