$1 Million?! - Looks like we all may need friends like Lil' Wayne has. Instead of cake and ice cream and a few lame birthday gifts, the rapper got a Louis Vuitton briefcase stuffed full of crisp, new bills – $1 million to be exact – from his friend and mentor Bryan “Baby” Williams a.k.a.Birdman , the head of Cash Money Records. She's Married Now - She didn't win "American Idol." But LaKisha Jones, the fourth runner-up in last year's "Idol," won the heart of a special guy. Michael Vick is asking a federal bankruptcy judge to appoint him a mediator to help him out. The former Atlanta Falcons star is serving a 23-month sentence for a conviction on dogfighting charges.

Big Pain in Producers' A** - Some fans just can't get enough of Lil' Kim's music, but until she clears up a lawsuit filed by her record label, you won't be hearing new joints from her. Brookland Media is suing her for $2.5 million, saying Kim hasn't delivered all the recordings their contract requires.

Payback? - The jurors who convicted O.J. of armed robbery and kidnapping say they aren't feelin' the fact that they're being portrayed as a bunch of racists who had it in for "The Juice." He Took His Own Life? - Legendary hip-hop producer, Johnny J, who was known for his work on Tupac's "All Eyez On Me" album died at the L.A. County jail last Friday. He was in jail for a DUI charge when he reportedly took his life by jumping off a tier in the jail. He was 39 and leaves behind a wife and two children.

Guilty - The Kansas City man who allegedly chopped off the head of his stepdaughter’s lifeless baby and buried the body in the woods will spend the rest of his life behind bars without parole. Harrell Johnson was found guilty of first-degree murder, endangering the welfare of a child and child abuse in the death of Erica Green.

He Wins Again! - R. Kelly won a $3.4 million suit against his former tour promoter, and he’s asking a judge to help him collect his paper. At issue is payment for shows that were scheduled for late last year and early this year. Kelly filed court papers asking for confirmation of the award that was ordered to be paid by Rowe Entertainment last month.

Oprah's Sued - The fired headmistress of Oprah's South Africa school for girls says the talk-show diva isn't going to talk about her and get away with it. Nomvuyo Mzamane is suing O for more than $250,000 because Winfrey suggested she knew about alleged abuse at the school and tried to cover it up, the lawsuit says.

'A Lot Better' - Natalie Cole has left the hospital, and according to her publicist, she's "feeling a lot better." The 58-year-old singer, who is now resting at her Los Angeles home, is also reportedly receiving kidney dialysis that is unrelated to her battle with hepatitis C. Cole announced this summer that she had hepatitis C, likely caused by her drug abuse years ago.

Tour in Limbo? - We're still clueless about what made Janet so sick last week, but apparently it was so bad that she canceled three more shows – one she had scheduled for Saturday night in Greensboro, N.C., one in Atlanta Sunday night and another in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on Tuesday. No official word on when her tour will resume.

He Wants Men & Women - Usher wants the men and women – to attend his "One Night Stand: Ladies Only" concert that is! A rep for Jive Records says that although the ladies are the focus of the tour, the brothas won't be turned away. Usher's 14-day tour begins Nov. 2 in Atlantic City.

‘Paper’ Brings In Paper - On the first day T.I.’s album “Paper Trail” hit stores, it sold more than 357,000 copies – putting it in the #1 spot. It is currently unknown whether sales of "Paper Trail" will surpass the 522,000 first week copies sold for "King" – T.I.'s previous album.

Backed by 'Ebony' - For the first time, "Ebony" is formally endorsing a candidate for president. And, it should come as no surprise, that the pick is Barack Obama. The magazine's president and CEO, Linda Johnson Rice, calls the November vote "the most crucial presidential election in our lifetime."
