David Paterson responded to reports that the White House had asked him not to seek re-election next year. “I’ve never gotten an explicit indication authorized from the White House that I shouldn’t run.” But later in the interview he did say that the White House had expressed some concern. That won’t stop Paterson, though. “I am running for governor in 2010. I don’t think that this is an issue other than for the people of New York to decide.”
