Monday: On Wall Street - After getting his daily briefing in the Oval Office, President Obama will head to New York City to deliver a speech on the financial crisis at Federal Hall. Topics included in the address include the government’s efforts to get the economy back on track and what the United States and the world must do to make sure a recession like this one won’t ever happen again. Obama will return to Washington, D.C. later in the day.

Monti, formerly of the U.S. Army, a Medal of Honor posthumously for his service in Afghanistan. Monti’s parents will be on hand at the White House to receive the honor.

In First Lady News... - In an effort to show support for bringing the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games to Chicago, First Lady Michelle Obama will travel to Copenhagen, Denmark, the White House recently announced, to attend the 121st International Olympic Committee Session at the Copenhagen Congress Center. “There is no doubt in my mind that Chicago would offer the world a fantastic setting for these historic games and I hope that the Olympic torch will have the chance to burn brightly in my hometown,” Mrs. Obama said.

And so one of the things that I’m trying to figure out is: How can we make sure that civility is interesting?”
