The nation’s lawmakers are considering legislation that will impose the death penalty on some gays and sentences of up to seven years in jail for family and friends who don’t report gays to authorities, the Associated Press reports. Cato was beaten up several times, arrested twice, fired from his job and outed by the media before he became an activist.
