Bryant, Lakers Defeat Thunder - What a difference Andrew Bynum makes. The Los Angeles Lakers center returned on Sunday after missing nearly a month due to injury and dominated the paint in an 87-79 victory over Oklahoma City. Bynum had 13 points and 12 rebounds as Kobe Bryant led all Lakers scorers with 21. Kevin Durant was held in check by Ron Artest, scoring only 24 points on 7-for-24 shooting.

Kevin Garnett Suspended - Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett was suspended for Game 2 of their series with the Miami Heat following an altercation with guard Quentin Richardson. Garnett was ejected after receiving a double technical during a fourth-quarter melee at the end of Game 1 when he threw an elbow at Richardson. Following the game, Richardson called Garnett and Paul Pierce, “actresses.”

Noah Calls Garnett "Dirty" - Following Kevin Garnett’s antics at the end of Game 1 on Saturday, Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah called the Celtics forward a dirty player. "I'm hurting right now because of an elbow he threw," Noah said. "It's unbelievable. He's a dirty player. It's one thing to be competitive and compete and all that, but don't be a dirty player. He's a dirty player."

Mets Win In 20 Innings - It took a combined 19 pitchers and nearly seven hours, but the New York Mets defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 2-1 in 20 innings on Saturday. The two teams were scoreless until the 19th inning when Jeff Francouer hit a sacrifice fly for the game’s first run. The Cardinals ran out of pitchers, forcing manager Tony La Russa to use position players Felipe Lopez and Joe Mather on the mound.

Positive Drug Test For Two Draft Prospects - According to FoxSports.com, two NFL draft prospects failed the NFL Scouting Combine drug tests. Georgia Tech running back Jonathan Dwyer tested positive for amphetamines and USC tight end Anthony McCoy tested positive for marijuana. It appears unlikely to hurt their standing in the NFL Draft, which begins Thursday evening from New York City.

Okur To Miss Playoffs - Utah Jazz center Mehmet Okur is out for the remainder of the playoffs after tearing his left Achilles tendon. Okur injured himself in the first half of Utah’s 126-113 Game 1 loss to the Denver Nuggets. The injury is expected to sideline Okur at least six months.

Pavlik Defeated By Martinez - A bloody Kelly Pavlik lost his WBO and WBC junior middleweight championship to Sergio Martinez by unanimous decision in a competitive fight from Atlantic City, N.J. on Saturday night. It was the first loss for Pavlik (36-2) at his natural weight as he battled cuts on both of his eyes that affected his vision.

Manny Delivers In A Pinch - Manny Ramirez, who has a flair for the dramatics, delivered once again for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. Held out of the starting lineup because of a calf injury, Ramirez came off the bench and hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning, lifting the Dodgers over the San Francisco Giants 2-1. It was Ramirez’s 548th career home run, tying Mike Schmidt for 14th place on the all-time career list.

Roy To Miss First Round - Tough break for the Portland Trailblazers as they learned their leading scorer, Brandon Roy, would miss the opening round of the NBA Playoffs following arthroscopic surgery on his right knee. Portland didn’t miss Roy in Game 1 of their series, upsetting the Phoenix Suns 105-100.
