Ousted USDA Worker Rejects Return Offer

Shirley Sherrod, the former USDA worker who was ousted last month after comments she made in March were misconstrued as racist, rejected an offer to return back to the agency. During a news conference earlier this week with Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack (who, along with President Obama, has apologized to Sherrod numerous times for the misunderstanding), she said that while she can’t accept the job at this point, she may work with the USDA doing consulting work to help with minority outreach.
